PRP and PRF are regenerative treatments created from a small sample of your own blood. After the sample is processed, the platelet-rich components are used in personalized aesthetic protocols designed to support healthier-looking skin, natural facial rejuvenation and hair-restoration goals.

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. It contains concentrated platelets suspended in plasma and is commonly used for hair-restoration protocols and selected regenerative applications.

PRP hair restoration uses platelet-rich plasma prepared from your blood and introduced into targeted areas of the scalp. The treatment is intended to support existing follicles and improve the appearance of hair density in appropriately selected clients.

What is PRP?

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma. A small blood sample is collected and processed to concentrate platelets within the plasma.

Platelets contain naturally occurring growth factors involved in cellular signaling and tissue-repair processes. PRP is used in various medical and aesthetic settings, although outcomes depend on the indication and individual patient.

What is PRF?

PRF stands for platelet-rich fibrin. It is produced using a different processing protocol that creates a fibrin matrix containing platelets and other blood components.

PRF can be prepared as a liquid or transformed into PRF EZ Gel for selected facial-rejuvenation procedures.

What is the difference between PRP and PRF?

PRP is typically a liquid platelet-rich preparation. PRF forms a fibrin matrix that retains platelets and releases naturally occurring signaling proteins over time.

Neither is universally “better.” The appropriate option depends on the treatment area and desired outcome.

What is PRF EZ Gel?

PRF EZ Gel is an autologous gel prepared from components of your own blood. It can provide temporary support in selected facial areas while contributing to a gradual regenerative response.

It is not the same as hyaluronic-acid filler and should not be expected to provide identical volume, precision or longevity.

Can PRF improve under-eye hollows?

PRF EZ Gel may provide subtle support and improve the appearance of under-eye hollows in appropriately selected clients. It may be particularly appealing to people who prefer an autologous option.

Not every under-eye concern is caused by volume loss. Pigmentation, visible blood vessels, fluid retention and skin laxity may require a different approach.

Does PRP work for hair loss?

PRP may help improve the appearance of hair density in some clients with active but weakened follicles. It tends to be most appropriate for early thinning rather than completely bald areas.

How many PRP hair treatments will I need?

Many clients begin with three to six sessions followed by maintenance treatments. The schedule depends on the extent and cause of hair thinning, overall health and response to treatment.

When will I see hair-restoration results?

Hair growth is slow. Reduced shedding may be noticed before visible changes in density. Meaningful improvements generally take several months and require consistent photography to evaluate accurately.

How long do PRF facial results last?

PRF EZ Gel results usually last up to 6 months and build up over time. Initial fullness may change as post-treatment swelling resolves and the gel is gradually absorbed. Improvements in skin quality may continue developing over time.

What is the downtime after PRP or PRF?

Temporary swelling, tenderness, redness and bruising may occur. Under-eye or facial injections can produce noticeable swelling or bruising for several days.

Scalp PRP may cause temporary tenderness, pinpoint bleeding, swelling or a tight sensation. Follow the aftercare instructions provided by ETHR LAB.

Are PRP and PRF treatments safe?

Because the material is derived from your own blood, allergic reactions to the platelet preparation are less likely than with foreign substances. However, blood draws and injections still carry risks such as bruising, swelling, discomfort, infection, vascular injury and unsatisfactory cosmetic results.

Who should not receive PRP or PRF?

PRP or PRF may not be appropriate for clients with certain blood or platelet disorders, active infection, uncontrolled medical conditions or some forms of cancer. Certain medications may also affect eligibility.

Tell your provider about pregnancy, blood thinners, autoimmune conditions, recent illness, allergies and all prescription medications and supplements.

Can PRP or PRF be combined with other aesthetic treatments?

Yes, when clinically appropriate. PRP or PRF may be incorporated into a broader plan involving SkinPen microneedling, HydraFacial, neuromodulators, dermal filler or other treatments.

Timing matters. Your provider will create a sequence that allows appropriate healing and avoids stacking treatments too aggressively.
